Daily, after each session
Wipe each bowl with a soft microfiber cloth, no chemicals. Crystal collects the room, sweat, oils, residue from incense or oils. A clean bowl rings cleanly. A loaded bowl drifts off pitch.
Bowl Care Guide
Crystal singing bowls hold 432hz for decades when cared for, and drift within months when they aren't. The same care protocol Noura runs on her own studio set, daily, weekly, travel.
The Protocol
Wipe each bowl with a soft microfiber cloth, no chemicals. Crystal collects the room, sweat, oils, residue from incense or oils. A clean bowl rings cleanly. A loaded bowl drifts off pitch.
Run the SBH Sequence tones one at a time against a 432hz reference (a tuner app is enough). If a tone has drifted more than 4-5 cents, set it aside; play it through one full cycle, re-check. Persistent drift means the bowl needs a tune-up before the next client session.
Always on a padded surface, never directly on stone or hardwood. Bowls do crack from temperature shock, keep them out of direct afternoon sun and away from forced-air vents.
Each bowl in its own padded case. Mallets separate. The most common cause of a chipped rim is two bowls travelling in one case. The Foundation, Complete, and Studio Pro sets all ship with cases sized to the bowls, keep them.
A chip on the rim larger than a fingernail or a hairline crack changes the tone permanently. The bowl is no longer 432hz-verified. For active certified facilitators, replacement bowls are available individually by tone, don't run sessions with a compromised bowl.
Active certified SBH facilitators can order individual replacement bowls by tone. Certification verification required at checkout.
